“The release of prisoners depends directly on Kobakhidze. It does not matter what Jagmaidze says. Kobakhidze is trying to convince Bidzina Ivanishvili how dangerous they are and that they should not be released,” said Nargiz Davitadze, the mother of Zviad Tsetskhladze, who was detained during protest rallies, on PalitraNews’ program “Resume.”
Davitadze noted that today representatives of the authorities staged a “show” near the Parliament, aimed at “demonstrating patriotism” to the public.
“Today they staged a show. They could not come freely. There was no police left elsewhere in Georgia—they brought everyone to the Parliament. They prepared for an hour, pushed us away, dispersed us, did everything. What they did cannot even be called a proper arrival. Our deceased mean nothing to them, as they do not recognize them as heroes. They do not care about the living either; they do not care about sick children, so speaking about the deceased is pointless. They are staging this show for their audience to demonstrate how patriotic they are. They are acting, and this act is already obvious,” said Nargiz Davitadze.
In her assessment, Zviad Tsetskhladze is “Irakli Kobakhidze’s personal prisoner,” and his detention is linked to the government’s attitude toward educated youth.
“In everything, Bidzina is the one in charge, but when young people are in prison, it is directly the hand of Irakli Kobakhidze. I personally hold Irakli Kobakhidze responsible. Zviad Tsetskhladze is Kobakhidze’s personal prisoner. It seems he does not like an educated generation. [Zviad Tsetskhladze] himself told Kobakhidze: let’s debate in lectures and I will prove why it is a Russian law. Then he was not allowed into the lecture, ‘titushkys’ were sent against him, and he was arrested. As it turns out, Irakli Kobakhidze cannot stand an educated generation. The release of prisoners depends directly on Kobakhidze. It does not matter what Jagmaidze says. Kobakhidze is trying to convince Bidzina how dangerous they are and that they should not be released,” said Nargiz Davitadze.
