Strong Georgia - The clear position of society against Orbán’s rule is an example that no system is indestructible - the struggle through elections always makes sense even in an unequal system

Fighting through elections always makes sense, even in an unequal system! – reads a statement of Lelo Strong Georgia.

Lelo Strong Georgia congratulates "the Hungarian people on their victory over the regime, on making a democratic choice and on supporting the European path. This victory is the result of their belief in freedom, dignity and democratic values!".

“The Hungarian elections, where the pro-European forces won a significant victory under Orbán’s 16-year autocratic rule, once again demonstrate that people ultimately always make choices for the good of real prosperity, democratic values, and the European future.

The clear position of society against Orbán’s rule is an example that no system is indestructible and no fraudulent system can stand up to the will of the people when citizens massively oppose the regime in the elections!

Hungary has shown us that autocracies are temporary, while the pursuit of freedom, justice, and European integration is permanent!

Hungary has once again reminded us that the large-scale activity of citizens in elections is decisive and determines the future of the country!

The example of Hungary is particularly important for us. In Georgia, society is also faced with a historic choice - to return to and strengthen the European path, which is associated with the rule of law, or remain on the path of regression in protecting human rights, to create a state based on transparency, or remain a corrupt, illegal, isolated space where no one is protected.

The European Union is not just a geopolitical choice, it is a civilizational space where the state serves the citizen, and not vice versa.

We believe that the citizens of Georgia, like the Hungarians, will once again make a choice in favor of a European future, because the European choice is a national choice!

In both Hungary and Georgia, democratic changes are inevitable if society is strong and united. It is our responsibility as a political force to respond to this demand with dignity.

The main lesson is clear: fight instead of boycott! Democratic optimism instead of electoral nihilism! Return politics to the people and put it at the service of the people! This was, is and will be the main belief of Strong Georgia - Lelo in our fight against the regime.

Fighting through elections always makes sense even in an unequal system!", reads the statement.
