Sanctions are a good example of an unfair attitude, how a country blackmails and puts pressure directly on people, using methods of instilling certain fear or various feelings, - the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maka Botchorishvili, said at the plenary session of the Parliament.
According to her, there are also cases when individual countries do not even name the people they sanction.
"In many cases, there were such cases when we legitimately asked a sanctioning country, which announced on Twitter that it was sanctioning representatives of the Georgian government, to tell us the names and surnames of the people sanctioned, so that they would know not to visit their great country again and not break their door. They do not even say the names. What can I say, it is clear where these sanctions were written, we also know. You can compare, even the mistakes are the same, the names and surnames. The sanctions written in Kyiv were copied by other countries, it was like that too. You can see, they couldn't even correct the mistakes made, they had to correct the surnames and so on. On the one hand, it's not serious, but on the other hand, it's serious. We cannot ignore this issue. In addition to making statements, we are also taking specific steps in specific cases. I can't talk about everything here, but we are communicating with different countries. With different agencies, so that the unfair steps that were taken against our citizens are corrected. I hope we will have some progress in this direction," Botchorishvili said.
