Georgia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maka Bochorishvili, hosted representatives of the Weimar Triangle countries — Director for Continental Europe at France’s Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs Brice Roquefeuil, Director of the Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia Department at Germany’s Federal Foreign Office Niklas Wagner, and Deputy Director of the Department for Enlargement and Eastern Neighbourhood Policy at Poland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Michał Giergiel.
According to Georgia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting focused on relations between Georgia and the European Union, as well as current issues of bilateral cooperation.
“The parties also discussed the situation in the region and, in this context, emphasized the importance of stability and security.
The Minister placed particular emphasis on Georgia’s security challenges, priorities, and prospects for cooperation. Representatives of the Weimar Triangle countries’ foreign ministries once again reaffirmed their support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the statement reads.
