Our approach, which aims for peace, progress and development, is successful - over the past five years, Georgia has had the highest economic growth rate in Europe, averaging 9.3% since 2021. We started the current year on a fairly good footing: 8.4% was the economic growth rate in January and February, - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said in his speech at the leaders' panel discussion - "Defining the Future and Managing Risks" held within the framework of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
According to him, Georgia's economic development policy is successful.
“Our approach, which aims at peace, progress and development, is successful. If we look at economic indicators, Georgia’s economic development policy and policy in general have proven their success. Over the past five years, Georgia has had the highest growth rate in all of Europe, and it has averaged 9.3 percent since 2021. We started this year on a pretty good footing: 8.4 percent was the economic growth rate in January and February. This is our vision - to maintain peace and stability in the country and ensure economic progress and connectivity. With this approach and such a vision, we will not only maintain peace in the country, but also in the region - in the South Caucasus region - we will promote peace. We are very pleased that we are very strong partners of Turkey in this direction,” the Prime Minister noted.
In addition, as the Prime Minister noted, Georgia’s approach is to try to maintain peace, ensure stability and prosperity.
“We are concerned with strengthening the connectivity of our country, strengthening economic ties with various partner countries. Reality shows that this approach is successful,” Kobakhidze noted.
He also spoke about the fact that specific multilateral organizations, instead of protecting sovereignty, create challenges for countries.
“In your introductory speech, you touched on multilateral organizations. In this regard, I would like to say that in our opinion, informal influences are also evident in these official organizations. This is very visible to us. The result of this is quite negative: specific multilateral organizations, instead of protecting sovereignty, create challenges for countries. A “good” example of this is Georgia. In this direction - in terms of ensuring our sovereignty and independence - we are facing certain challenges from some multinational organizations. This is one of the issues that needs to be changed.
We all remember well such phrases as “rules-based international order”, “values-based international order”. Unfortunately, this is already a thing of the past. Many politicians talk about this. It is really important to strengthen multinational organizations. First of all, this should be done to return rules-based international law. This is a very difficult task and we will have to work hard for this”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
