Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia met Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Republic of Turkey.
According to the Government Administration, during the meeting, the dignitaries discussed the strategic partnership between Georgia and Turkey, successful cooperation across various sectors and ongoing developments in the region.
The Head of Government of Georgia expressed his condolences to President Erdoğan over the tragedy caused by the school shooting that took place in Turkey on April 15.
The discussion also focused on the positive dynamics of trade and economic cooperation, as well as the role of joint regional projects. In this context, the importance of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway, Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline, and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum (BTE) pipeline, along with the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC), was highlighted in terms of strengthening connectivity between the region and Europe, as well as enhancing Europe's energy security.
The leaders also discussed the potential of the Middle Corridor and further cooperation for its development.
The meeting was attended by Maka Botchorishvili, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
