Mikheil Saakashvili - In order not to slip up again this time, it is necessary to urgently analyze all mistakes - I am not going to care about anyone's sentiments, if we want to gain strength, it is necessary to accept criticism

We must stop personal disputes and set our sights on the most destructive, cynical, and brutal regime in the history of Georgia, and together with people, send them away forever, - the third President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, writes on his Facebook page.

Saakashvili draws attention to several issues, which, in his assessment, are the opposition's mistakes.

As Saakashvili notes, "it is a mistake to completely replace politics with the street, the street is a necessary element of the struggle, but without politics it will be very difficult."

"The dictatorship is shaking, in fact, it is weaker than ever, the last few days confirm this. A huge vacuum has arisen, which active people and the opposition must fill. In order not to slip again this time, it is necessary to urgently analyze all our mistakes and draw useful conclusions. So, I decided to talk about all this very openly and I am not going to be careful about anyone's sentiments, if we want to gain strength, it is necessary to accept criticism. It was a big mistake to give in the national patriotic theme to the Dream, while the same National Movement government was a deeply patriotic, healthy nationalist government, while their patriotism was reduced to a cynical imitation and, in fact, they are actively selling out the homeland. We were not able to explain this properly. The opposition's ignorance of the topic of war and peace was a big mistake. We must explain that it is precisely capitulation, disarmament, and the loss of friends that are causing the war here. An especially big mistake is the almost complete ignorance of specific social topics, so that this gives people the impression that the opposition is already living well, is not interested in people's problems, and is mainly busy presenting itself and dividing each other. It is a mistake to completely replace politics with the street. The street is a necessary element of the struggle, but without politics it will be very difficult. It is also wrong to actually go into internal emigration, to remove responsibility, and to rely only on the West, which some in the opposition constantly radiate with constant questioning: "Well, what did Rubio call about, what did Aliyev bring," instead of thinking about what we should do - this is harmful. Walking in the same endless circle does not give us anything. Setting dates without proper explanation does not provide much, as we have seen many times in the past. Instead, the greatest threat to the regime was spontaneous protests, such as “Gavrilov’s Night” and after Kobakhidze’s statement (as well as foreign experience (Kiev 2014, Nepal 2025)), which would have led to a change of regime if the political spectrum had been ready, although spontaneous protests do not fall from the sky. They are an expression of the accumulated protest energy, and this energy is accumulated through constant work with people. This work is in no way limited to television or social networks”, Saakashvili says.

According to him,

“What should happen after the regime change? Now the prevailing concept is that only a coalition government will save Georgia. Despite the fact that going against this thesis leads to the aggression of liberals, I still say that a coalition government is the worst form of democratic governance. Why worse - because a coalition leads to political corruption. When resources, instead of being directed to the people, are used to bribe various members of the coalition. Also, it is much more difficult to make decisions in a coalition. One of the main weaknesses of the opposition is that it is very easy for a dictatorship to predict. In general, the opposition should stop walking in the same circle with a pre-determined trajectory. You must stop taking money from subjects sent by the regime, at the cost of seemingly insignificant compromises, we must stop personal disputes and set our sights on the most destructive, cynical, and brutal regime in the history of Georgia, and together with people, send them away forever," Mikheil Saakashvili wrote on social media.
