As a result of a market research process announced for the production of school uniforms for primary-level students for the 2026–2027 academic year, five candidate companies have been identified.

According to the Ministry of Education, this stage involves reviewing the documentation submitted by these companies to determine their compliance with the required conditions.

“To ensure the production of school uniforms, market research was announced by LLC ‘Educational Resources,’ an entity under the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia. As a result, five candidate companies were identified. At this stage, we are reviewing the documentation submitted by these companies to verify compliance with our requirements. The next stage will involve correcting and уточнение any inconsistencies in the submitted documents, after which a contract will be signed with the company that meets all the requirements and conditions outlined in the market research. The final selection will be made in favor of the company offering the lowest price for the requested product,” the ministry stated.

For reference, the market research for primary school uniforms for the 2026–2027 academic year was announced by LLC “Educational Resources” on April 3 and concluded on April 22. According to the tender documentation, delivery will take place in two stages: the first stage requires at least 30% of the goods to be delivered by July 31, 2026, and the second stage requires the remaining quantity to be delivered by August 20, 2026.

As for quantities, the tender specifies procurement of 292,000 girls’ blazers, 308,000 boys’ blazers, 438,000 girls’ trousers, 616,000 boys’ trousers, 146,000 knee-length skirts, and 1,000 long skirts.

Except for families in special categories, parents will be responsible for purchasing the uniforms themselves. According to Deputy Minister of Education Zviad Gabisonia, the cost of producing a uniform is expected to be up to 100 GEL.
