On April 25, 40 days will have passed since the death of His Holiness and Beatitude, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II. On this occasion, the locum tenens of the Patriarchal Throne, Metropolitan Shio (Mujiri), will lead a divine liturgy at the Tbilisi Sioni Cathedral together with bishops and other clergy. This information is released by the Public Relations Service of the Patriarchate of Georgia.
According to the statement, the service will begin at 10:00 AM.
“Tomorrow, April 25, marks 40 days since the passing of His Holiness and Beatitude, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Archbishop of Mtskheta-Tbilisi, and Metropolitan of Bichvinta and Tskhum-Abkhazia Ilia II.
On this occasion, the locum tenens of the Patriarchal Throne, Metropolitan Shio (Mujiri) of Senaki and Chkhorotsku, will conduct a divine liturgy at the Sioni Cathedral of Tbilisi together with bishops and other clergy, after which a memorial service for the repose of his soul will be held,” the statement reads.
