Zurab Pataradze: If any official cannot work effectively within the system, a relevant personnel decision will be made - as for the Batumi mayor, he is an effective mayor

“If any official is unable to work effectively within the system and cannot cope with their duties, of course, an appropriate personnel decision will be made,” said the newly elected Head of the Government of Adjara, Zurab Pataradze, in response to a question about whether he plans personnel changes or the possible dismissal of Batumi Mayor Giorgi Tsintsadze.

At the same time, he emphasized that Tsintsadze is an effective mayor.

“Giorgi Tsintsadze is a self-government leader and an elected mayor. He is an effective mayor with significant experience in this position. I hope we will achieve many positive results together both for Batumi and for Adjara in general. However, if any official cannot work within this framework and fails to cope with their responsibilities, of course, the relevant personnel decision will be made,” Pataradze said.

He also thanked the deputies of the Supreme Council of Adjara and the ruling team for their support.

According to Pataradze, holding the position of Head of the Government of Adjara is both a great honor and a major responsibility.

“I would like to thank the President of the country, the Prime Minister for their trust, as well as the entire political team and the honorary chairman of the party, Mr. Bidzina Ivanishvili. This is a great honor, but at the same time a very big responsibility. From this very moment we carry a huge responsibility before the people, my native Adjara, and the population. Active work will begin from today together with our team to do everything possible - and even more - for our citizens and our country.

In my presentation today, we discussed the projects I announced - infrastructure development, tourism, and other important issues on the agenda. I believe we will jointly assess them and do everything for the success of our region,” Pataradze said.
