According to Grigol Gegelia, this is the highest-ranking American visit and one of the highest visits in general that has been carried out in Georgia in recent years.

"With the high-ranking State Department representative, of course, we will discuss all the main challenges facing the country, we will discuss the great importance and strategy of the Anaklia deep-sea port project, as well as political and democratic issues, which are very big challenges facing our country. I can say that the US has stated very clearly that America expects specific types of actions from the Dream regime and that the fate of a possible reset or normalization depends entirely on the actions and rhetoric that the Georgian Dream regime will have now and in the future. If the Georgian Dream does nothing, in April, May or October, nothing will change for its good in terms of normalization, and vice versa, if the Georgian Dream regime takes a concrete step in the directions that it knows very well from the US side, in this case, of course, there will be a chance for some stabilization and resetting of relations. Therefore, I would advise the Dream to look into the matter, take concrete steps and achieve a certain type of stabilization with the US, which will first of all lead to our political stabilization, this is the release of political prisoners, resetting the political system and stopping anti-American, anti-European and anti-national rhetoric and practices," Gegelia states.
