The French Embassy in Georgia, on World Press Freedom Day, would like to reaffirm its support for all Georgian journalists who, regardless of their political views, carry out their work with diligence and courage to cover public debate, - reads a statement from the French Embassy in Georgia.

According to them, it is the responsibility of public authorities everywhere to create the political and practical legal conditions in which journalists can exercise the necessary freedom of expression.

“Since democracy is impossible without reliable information for citizens, since quality information has become scarce and fragile at a time when propaganda and political marketing sometimes stifle the search for simple truth, the French Embassy in Georgia, on World Press Freedom Day, May 3, wishes to reaffirm its support for all Georgian journalists who, regardless of their political views, carry out their work with diligence and courage in order to cover public debate.
