The constant attempt to drag Georgia in hostilities, of course, determines the very difficult relations that have developed between us, but this does not mean that we should not talk to each other or shake hands, - said the First Vice-Speaker of the Parliament, Gia Volski, commenting on the meeting of the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, and the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to him, despite the biased attitude of the Ukrainian authorities, Georgia has never stopped providing political assistance to Ukraine.
Volsi hopes that relations with Ukraine will be positive.
"The weak question is: "What are you talking about?” - We are not in conflict with anyone. Despite the absolutely biased, incorrect assessment and attitude of the Ukrainian government, authorities, and Zelensky personally, Georgia has never stopped providing assistance to Ukraine - political assistance. Providing military assistance meant engaging in the war, which they demanded, but this does not mean that we will not talk. We must talk to Zelensky and remind him once again that there is no resolution, international format where Georgia has not come out in support of Ukraine. Count how many thousands of Ukrainian children are still studying in Georgian schools in the Ukrainian units, count how many hundreds of Ukrainian students are studying in Georgia and draw conclusions based on that. I think it would be useful to remind Zelensky of this issue. Instead of recalling the ambassador from here and entering into this confrontation with Georgia, very bad propaganda is being carried out in the media. Of course, there could have been more positive relations. Georgia is a partially occupied country. This should also be taken into account. The constant attempt to involve Georgia in hostilities, of course, determines the very difficult relations that have developed between us, but this does not mean that we should not talk to each other or shake hands. World politics is characterized by this - today is replaced by tomorrow, in which completely different strategic goals and visions can be formed. We hope that relations with Ukraine will be positive," Volsky said.
