The Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, met with the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Malta, Angelo Farrugia.
According to the press service of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili positively assessed the relations between Georgia and Malta, both at the bilateral and multilateral levels.

Shalva Papuashvili noted Malta’s special role in upholding the rules-based international order and stressed the importance of continuing the dialogue.
The Speaker of the Parliament expressed gratitude for Malta’s support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The parties discussed bilateral cooperation between the two countries, including at the parliamentary level.
The parties discussed the importance of regional platforms in the context of instability in the international order. In this regard, the importance of the activities of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean was emphasized.
The meeting was the first of its kind in the history of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) member and partner countries, which is currently taking place in Budva, Montenegro. It was held within the framework of the summit.
