It is important that the court found certain persons guilty of organizing the overthrow and once again assessed what happened on October 4, - the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, said while commenting on the court's decision on the October 4 case.
As Papuashvili noted, after the political assessments, there is already a court document on what we were dealing with.
In addition, according to Papuashvili, "people with hostile plans towards the Georgian people supported the overthrow of the government."
“Let us recall what the preconditions were for October 4. Today it became clear who has legal responsibility for organizing the failed overthrow, but we already knew who had political responsibility for the violence, and that is Brussels. This is entirely Brussels’ political responsibility, which we saw on October 4. We saw the European Commission’s support for the pre-announced violence. Also, on the day when the storming of the presidential palace was underway, through various social networks, MEPs Rasa Juknevičienė and other similar people with hostile plans towards the Georgian people supported the overthrow of the government. Among them was Moldovan President Maia Sandu, who directly declared her support for the violence. This political responsibility has been strengthened today with a legal basis,” Papuashvili noted.
As Papuashvili stated, the questions regarding October 4 should be answered by the European Commission and its representative, the EU Ambassador to Georgia.
"We are interested in the answer from the European Union, where is the European value that they are talking about. Is violence a European value? It turns out that overthrowing the government was a European value, it turns out that harming people was a European value. The European Commission should give answers to this, and its representative is the EU Ambassador. Therefore, we expect and demand an answer from the EU Ambassador regarding October 4, whether the EU Ambassador intends to apologize to the President of Georgia for the attack on his palace by people incited by them. Whether Pawel Herczyński personally intends to apologize to the President of Georgia for the fact that seven months have passed since October 4 and he has not once condemned the violence at the presidential palace, to the President, who is the first host of any ambassador in the country. When they behave like this, they disregard the host, incite violence, and then do not want to take responsibility for it, this is not Europeanism. We know very well what Europeanism is. What we saw from Brussels, what we saw on October 4, is absolutely devoid of Europeanism. The Europe of a hundred years ago, yes sir, the dark past of Europe of a hundred years ago, we really saw on October 4," Papuashvili said.
