Shalva Papuashvili on Europe Day event - I have no desire to attend - I wonder if we will see the participants of October 4 at this gathering, whether they will shake their hands or not

The Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, has announced that he has no intention of participating in the event planned for Europe Day.

Shalva Papuashvili reminds the EU Ambassador to Georgia, Pawel Herczynski, of the sacrifices made by Georgians in World War II and says that, “if it weren’t for the sacrifices made by Georgia and the Georgian people in World War II, there would have been no EU, no Europe Day, and they wouldn’t have had anything to celebrate.”

“I have no desire whatsoever. We saw last year that the EU Embassy held an anti-government rally on May 9, when the EU Ambassador didn’t say a single word about the 300,000 Georgians who died in World War II. If it weren’t for the sacrifices made by Georgia and the Georgian people in World War II, there would have been no EU, no Europe Day, and they wouldn’t have had anything to celebrate. So, looking at their mood, it’s likely that today there will be another anti-government rally organized by the EU, and "of course, we have no desire to participate in the rally.

On the other hand, I wonder if we will see the participants of October 4 at this gathering, the co-organizers of the overthrow of the government in a political sense, those who threatened us with Nepal. I wonder if these people will appear at their event, if they will shake hands with these people, and I wonder if they will be at this party and gathering, which is announced for May 26, because this means a lot to the Georgian people. It shows who is really behind the hatred, violence, confrontation and radicalism in Georgia," Papuashvili said.
