Pawel Herczynski - Anti-European rhetoric continues, which damages friendship - We do not lose hope that Georgia will become a member of the European Union, therefore we are ready to renew our work - together we are stronger

Unfortunately, Georgia has recently stopped moving towards the European Union. Anti-European rhetoric continues, which further damages the friendship we have been building for years. We do not lose hope that Georgia will one day become a member of the European Union, therefore, we are ready to renew our work together to achieve this goal, - the EU Ambassador to Georgia, Pawel Herczynski, said at te event dedicated to Europe Day.

As the diplomat noted, Georgia is admired in Europe precisely because of its uniqueness and rich culture.

He addressed the public in Georgian.

“Today is Europe Day! On this day, we celebrate the unity of Europe and our long-standing friendship with Georgia, with you. Since the restoration of independence, we have stood by Georgia, by you, as a strong and reliable partner. The European Union helps Georgia progress and, most importantly, changes people's lives for the better. And if, nevertheless, the question still arises - what Europe is - let me tell you: Europe is a space of diversity, where each state not only preserves, but also strengthens its culture, identity and traditions. Georgia is admired in Europe precisely for its uniqueness and rich culture. We find inspiration in your proud history.

However, this is not enough for membership in the European family. Progress on the path to the European Union is based on democratic development. Unfortunately, Georgia has recently stopped moving towards the European Union. Anti-European rhetoric continues, which further damages the friendship built over the years and the hope of generations. Together we are stronger than apart .

We do not lose hope that Georgia will one day become a member of the European Union. Therefore, we are ready to renew our work together to achieve this goal.

Membership in the European Union is the best way to maintain peace and prosperity. This is proved by the almost 80-year history of the European Union. The future of Georgia, this country itself and its people, belongs to you. Forward, Georgia, forward!”, - said Pawel Herczynski.
