Due to the election of the Patriarch of Georgia, vehicle traffic will be temporarily restricted today in several areas surrounding the Holy Trinity Cathedral

In connection with the election of the Patriarch of Georgia, vehicle traffic around the Holy Trinity Cathedral will be temporarily restricted today, from 09:00 to 18:00.

Specifically, according to Tbilisi City Hall, on May 11, from 09:00 to 18:00, traffic restrictions will apply in the following directions around the Sameba Cathedral area:

Vehicle traffic will be prohibited from Bukhaidze Street toward Samreklo Street; Vehicle traffic will also be partially restricted on Bukhaidze Street. In this section, movement will only be allowed for pedestrians; Vehicle traffic will be restricted at Akhvlediani Square and Akhvlediani Ascent, as well as from Niabi Street toward Gumbri Street; Near the “Avlabari” metro station, vehicle traffic will be restricted from Gonashvili Street toward Meskhishvili Street.

According to City Hall, parking areas will be arranged at Akhvlediani Square and Khetagurovi Street. From there, people will be able to reach the Sameba Cathedral either by specially designated minibuses or on foot via Akhvlediani Street. Access from the “Avlabari” metro station will also be possible on foot via Gonashvili Street.
