Shalva Papuashvili - Peter Fischer will leave Georgia in a few weeks and retire, which is good in that he will not harm another nation, as unfortunately he managed to do in Georgian-German relations

If the Ministry of Foreign Affairs deems it necessary, they can summon [Peter Fischer] and have a proper conversation - Peter Fischer will be leaving Georgia in a few weeks, we know that he is retiring, which is good in that he will not harm any other nation, as unfortunately he managed to do in Georgian-German relations, - this is how the Speaker of the Parliament Shalva Papuashvili responds to the statement of the German Ambassador to Georgia, Peter Fischer, in which he calls Papuashvili's statements against him defamatory.

Papuashvili hopes that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will have an appropriate response.

"I am not happy to make any comments on this person's hostile attacks. If the Ministry of Foreign Affairs deems it necessary, it can summon him and have an appropriate conversation. We know that when his Ministry summoned him for consultations in Berlin, he returned, he was returned to Georgia with the agreement and condition with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that such attacks on Georgia would not take place. This condition, unfortunately, has been violated by both the ambassador and we also see that the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not adhere to this condition either. I hope that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will have an appropriate response when a representative of a foreign country accredited in Georgia is distinguished by such hostile attacks against the state and high-ranking political officials.

Peter Fischer will leave Georgia in a few weeks, we know that he is retiring from here directly, which is good in that he will not harm any other nation, as unfortunately he was able to do in Georgian-German relations," Papuashvili notes.
