Bishop Giuseppe Pasotto of the Catholic Church in Georgia from Verona, Italy, congratulates the new Patriarch of the Georgian Orthodox Church, Shio III, on his election.

In the letter, the bishop expresses hope that the new Patriarch will facilitate opportunities for a meeting and dialogue.

“Your Holiness, with spiritual joy and deep respect I join the stream of congratulations that are flowing to you from all sides on your election and enthronement as the 142nd Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia.

I affirm my respect and assure you that we will accompany you with fraternal prayer in the fulfillment of this responsible mission that you have undertaken. Consider the family of Georgia and Georgian Catholics as that sister-Church that has understood the common mission left to you by our Savior for the building of the Kingdom, and have hope in our word and deed," reads the congratulatory letter of Bishop Giuseppe Pasotto, Apostolic Administrator of the Latin Catholicos in the Caucasus, to the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Archbishop of Mtskheta-Tbilisi and Metropolitan of Bichvinta and Tskhum-Abkhazia, His Holiness and Beatitude Shio III.
