On May 17, on the occasion of the Day of the Sanctity of the Family, His Holiness and Beatitude Shio III, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Archbishop of Mtskheta-Tbilisi and Metropolitan of Bichvinta and Tskhum-Abkhazia, will celebrate the first festive liturgy in the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Tbilisi, the Public Relations Department of the Patriarchate reports.
According to the Patriarchate, the liturgy will be attended by delegations of various local churches and other guests who have arrived in connection with the enthronement of His Holiness, and a procession will also be held.

The liturgy will be attended by delegations of various local churches and other guests who have arrived in connection with the enthronement of His Holiness, as well as the clergy and monastic community of the Georgian Orthodox Church.
In parallel, at 11:00 a.m., a traditional procession will be held from the Kashveti Cathedral to the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. The Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia will bless the parishioners who will arrive from the prayer procession at the Trinity Cathedral.
Given that May 17 is a Sunday, the priests are given a blessing to start the service earlier than usual, so that the parishioners can participate in the procession,” reads the information.
