The court has sent Alexi Petriashvili, a senior researcher at the Rondeli Foundation, to 3 days of administrative detention.

The decision was made by Judge Tornike Kapanadze recently.

According to Petriashvili, the Ministry of Internal Affairs is contesting the “comic charge of standing on the sidewalk.” The case concerns the December 17 protest rally.

According to Part 1 of Article 174 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, artificially obstructing the movement of pedestrians on the sidewalk is punishable by administrative detention for a term of 2 to 15 days.
