In the first quarter of 2026, a total of 5,944 individuals were placed in temporary detention facilities.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, out of the total number, 4,482 individuals were detained under various articles of the Criminal Code of Georgia, while 1,327 were detained under articles of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Georgia.

The same information shows that a total of 135 migrants were also placed in temporary detention facilities.

According to the official document, of those placed in temporary detention facilities in the first quarter of 2026, 5,725 were men and 219 were women.
