Irakli Kobakhidze stated that what happened in Copenhagen “was not misconduct or an isolated excess by individual law enforcement officers, but a planned and brutal action against peaceful demonstrators.”
The Georgian Prime Minister made the statement during a briefing at the Government Administration.
According to Kobakhidze, the incident can neither be explained nor justified.
“This double standard is very obvious. I would not expect a response from them, because in reality they have nothing to answer. They are fully aware of the regression visible throughout the European Union, and for them this regression has become a normal phenomenon. This is the attitude of the European bureaucracy.
What we witnessed in Copenhagen was not misconduct or an isolated excess by individual law enforcement officers. It was a planned, brutal action against peaceful demonstrators, which can have neither explanation nor justification. Therefore, it is logical that they do not answer questions that are uncomfortable for them. This question is very uncomfortable for them, and naturally they find it difficult and are unable to answer it, and this is absolutely logical,” the Prime Minister said.
For reference, pro-Palestinian activists in Denmark held a protest demonstration against the transportation of military cargo allegedly intended for Israel and the possible involvement of the company Maersk in the process. According to the protesters, there is a significant risk that the weapons could be used in the Gaza Strip.
According to local media, on May 13, when pro-Palestinian activists blocked the headquarters of the transport giant Maersk in Copenhagen, Danish police used batons and trained dogs while dispersing the demonstration.
