Kakha Tsikarishvili: A working group will be created in the Patriarchate, where we will be represented - parents, specialists, and representatives of the Patriarchate - The Patriarchate promised direct communication with the government to restore the "broken bridge"

A working group will be established in the Patriarchate, where parents, specialists, and representatives of the Patriarchate will be involved. We will agree on further steps, after which communication with the government will take place, said Kakha Tsikarishvili, a parent of a child with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, following the meeting with the Patriarch.

According to him, the Patriarchate has promised to establish direct communication with the government in order to restore the “broken bridge” between parents and the authorities.

“A working group will be created in the Patriarchate, where parents, specialists, and representatives of the Patriarchate will be represented. This will be a trilateral meeting between parents, representatives of the Patriarchate, and specialists, where we will agree on the next steps, after which communication with the government will follow.

The Patriarchate has promised that it will engage in direct communication with the government so that this ‘broken bridge’ between parents and the authorities is restored. We will have direct dialogue with the government and will not have to make one-sided public statements.

We also presented problematic cases where assistance is needed. In particular, there are patients in extremely severe condition whom neither the state nor the medical sector can help. As for the free testing program that has been launched, clinics have already contacted us, which is very good. However, a major problem is that adolescents do not receive support after turning 18,” he said.
