The Georgian Diplomatic Society has been founded in Tbilisi. According to the founders, the society unites career diplomats from different generations, specifically those who resigned from their positions or were unfairly dismissed from diplomatic service due to their loyalty to Article 78 of the Constitution and democratic values.
“The Society aims to analyze foreign policy developments and inform the broader public based on professional experience and accumulated institutional memory. At the same time, one of the DGS’s priorities is responding to disinformation and propaganda aimed at discrediting the foreign policy course defined by the Constitution of Georgia and undermining the national consensus existing within society.
Members of the Society firmly believe that European and Euro-Atlantic integration represents the foundation for strengthening Georgia’s sovereignty, protecting its territorial integrity, ensuring democratic development, and promoting prosperity.
The Society operates with civic responsibility and is guided by a vision based on national interests and shared professional values. The Society is open to all diplomats who share the spirit, vision, and values of the organization’s mission,” the statement says.
