Anna Dolidze, leader of the party “For the People,” said that her main demand during the meeting with the U.S. State Department delegation was the release of what she described as “prisoners of conscience,” adding that the information shared will be specifically conveyed to Marco Rubio

She noted that a special representative of Marco Rubio participated in the delegation and said the purpose of the visit was for all issues discussed to be communicated not only within the framework of the State Department but also directly to Marco Rubio, which she described as very important.

According to her, the meeting also covered possible future developments and the opposition’s views on the current situation in the country.

“When the meeting opened, an introduction was made, and it was said that Georgia remains important because serious geopolitical processes are taking place in the Caucasus, and Georgia cannot remain on the sidelines of these processes.

It is very important that our American partners visit frequently.

In addition, a special representative of Marco Rubio participated in this delegation. The purpose of this composition was that everything discussed here would not only be considered within the State Department framework, but would also be specifically communicated to Marco Rubio, which is very important.

The discussion was about how events may develop and what the opposition thinks about ongoing processes in the country. My main priority was the release of prisoners of conscience. These people must be free. Only after that can we return to substantive discussions about what can be done regarding ongoing developments in the country,” Dolidze said.

As a reminder, representatives of the U.S. State Department are meeting with opposition parties in Georgia.

The delegation includes Charles Yockey, Special Assistant from the Office of the U.S. Secretary of State, and Peter Andreoli, representative of the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs.
