Speaking on the program “Resume” on PalitraNews, Pharulava said the rally is important, including because representatives of the U.S. State Department are currently visiting Georgia.
“Tomorrow’s rally will be peaceful. If we want the political crisis in the country to truly end, we must be together. Together not because we are ideologically identical forces, but because the ‘Opposition Alliance’ is a unity without uniformity. We represent a Christian-democratic conservative platform, and there are also representatives of a liberal platform. For us, it is important that democracy is restored in the country, that there is no terror, and that perspectives are created. That is why we are all gathering tomorrow at 7:00 PM near the first building of TSU,” he said.
He added that the timing of the protest is significant due to the presence of the U.S. State Department delegation in Georgia.
“It is also important that the U.S. Secretary of State is not coming to Georgia, but to Yerevan. This also determines our future prospects - whether the U.S. will restore its strategic partnership with Georgia. Because of Ivanishvili, the strategic partnership was lost, and Georgia has found itself in a kind of migration blockade,” Pharulava stated.
According to him, the scale of the protest will define its outcome.
“The authorities want the rally to be quiet, but our unity will define the agenda of the day. If they do not allow us to bring equipment in, and if many people come, that will be the answer to everything. I am confident that there will be many of us tomorrow,” he added.
