Georgia celebrates Independence Day. The Independence Day ceremony will be held on Freedom Square.
Conscripts will take the military oath on May 26, after which they will join the defense forces. Conscripts will also take the oath at 12 historical sites in Georgia.
Military equipment is deployed on Freedom Square.
“The implementation of the plan will begin at 11:00, and each of our citizens will have the opportunity to come and see the May 26 event we have planned, where the weapons and equipment of the defense forces will be exhibited.
There will also be an exhibition in 12 regions of Georgia, and citizens will have the opportunity to see all this,” said Lieutenant Colonel Lasha Zazadze.
Georgia celebrates Independence Day every year on May 26.
It was on May 26, 1918, in Tbilisi, that the National Council of Georgia adopted the “Act of Independence.” This ended the 117-year period of being part of the Russian Empire (which began with the annexation in 1801) and the Democratic Republic of Georgia was established.
