Georgia is facing a real risk of losing its historic role and of the region’s new main transit route completely bypassing it, - democratic forces and the Georgian people must do everything to bring about the end of this criminal regime, which has turned Georgia into an isolated, grey, pro-Russian swamp with no remaining perspective or international political prestige, - said Grigol Gegelia, one of the leaders of “Lelo – Strong Georgia,” at a briefing, commenting on the fact that Armenia and the United States signed a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Charter.

According to him, while Armenia has secured a $9 billion defense capability package and, thanks to new major investors, is creating tens of thousands of new jobs, the “pro-Russian regime is destroying our country’s economic prospects and further impoverishing an already poor nation.”

“Yesterday, in Yerevan, a strategic cooperation charter was signed between the United States and Armenia. Not long ago, we were the first and only country in the region that had a strategic partnership with the United States. Today, we are the only country in the region that does not have a strategic partnership with the United States, because Georgia has lost this crucial leverage due to the anti-Georgian policy of ‘Georgian Dream.’ At a time when the U.S. Vice President visited Yerevan and Baku, and now the U.S. Secretary of State has visited Yerevan, and not long ago the leadership of the European Union did as well, Georgia has found itself in international isolation.

Even now, the Georgian Dream regime is deceiving the Georgian public and partners when it claims its goal is to build Anaklia. The goal of Bidzina Ivanishvili, frightened by Putin, is to ensure that nothing big, important, patriotic, and Georgian happens in Georgia.

Anaklia must be declared a project of national strategic importance;

Anaklia must become part of the path of peace and prosperity;

It must be built on the basis of transparent contracts, with critical involvement of American and European capital;

Meanwhile, we, the democratic forces and the Georgian people, must do everything to end this criminal regime, which has turned Georgia into an isolated, grey, pro-Russian swamp with no perspective and no international political prestige,” Gegelia said.
