The opposition is completely disoriented, starless, fragmented and broken, with a heavy political past but without any future - with each new rally, more and more people are leaving them, which is a healthy process, - said Levan Makhashvili, Chair of the Parliament’s Committee on European Integration, speaking about yesterday’s rally organized by the “Opposition Alliance.”

According to the MP, there are attempts from their foreign patrons to somehow keep these political forces “alive and breathing.”

Makhashvili says that none of the possible scenarios will lead to success.

“We saw the continuation of those attempts that lack any sense, plan, or idea, which have been visible even after the parliamentary elections. The opposition is completely disoriented, starless (with nothing to orient themselves by), fragmented, with a heavy political past but without any future. Like a flock left without a shepherd. These political radicals, instead of offering society new responsible decisions or important initiatives, continue making statements and trying to seize power. Society also sees that with each new rally, more people are leaving them, which we consider a normal and healthy process. Let them continue their actions. In 2028, society will also give them its answer.

Once again, we see attempts from their foreign patrons to somehow keep these political forces alive and breathing. In Georgia’s reality, there are attempts to implement and test these scenarios. We also see efforts to deceive society into thinking that they are new, crowned, enlightened political forces, but in reality, everything is visible. No matter what foreign scenario is written for them, if it does not align with Georgian demand and the interests of the Georgian population, it is like a tree without roots, cut off from public support. Therefore, no such scenario, no matter how well its performers follow it step by step, will have any chance of success,” Makhashvili said.
