The incident in Gori was a very serious case and fact, although today I believe that it is not necessary to go into the details - no one gave an order, it happened spontaneously, - the Minister of Internal Affairs, Sulkhan Tamazashvili, said in response to a question about the violence against two citizens by law enforcement officers in Gori.
According to the Minister, the state has clearly stated its position on this fact.
"The incident in Gori was a very serious case and fact, although today I believe that it is not necessary to go into the details. The society has seen that the state has clearly stated its position on this fact. That is all I can say today.
No one gave an order, it happened spontaneously," - said Sulkhan Tamazashvili.
For information, law enforcement officers physically assaulted two people - Papuna Lotsulashvili and his friend in Gori.
Six law enforcement officers have been detained in connection with the incident. They are charged under Article 333, Part 3, Subparagraph “b” of the Criminal Code, which refers to abuse of official authority, committed with violence. The aforementioned act is punishable by imprisonment for a term of 5 to 8 years.
In addition, an investigation has been initiated against Papuna Lotsulashvili under Article 353 of the Criminal Code, which refers to violence against a police officer.
