"What is the problem with the fact that Ilia Tsulaia is my friend and the godfather of my child? Have I made any improper decisions in relation to Archi? Have I issued any permit that I should not have issued?" — Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze said during a debate on Rustavi 2, responding to a question from politician Nika Oboladze.

Kaladze stated that if there is any evidence that an improper decision has been made regarding any development company, he will resign from his position and apologize to the public.

"Since what year has Archi been in the construction business? Since 2006, when I was playing for AC Milan. Archi's founder, Ilia Tsulaia, is my childhood friend. We were born and raised in the same city, and he is the godfather of my child. But what does that have to do with anything? What is the problem with the fact that Ilia Tsulaia is my friend or my child's godfather? Have I done anything wrong in relation to Archi? Have I made an improper decision? Have I issued a permit that I should not have issued? Do you have any specific evidence regarding this? If you find that we, as the municipality, have made an improper decision concerning Archi or any other company, I promise that I will resign from my position and apologize to the public," the Mayor of Tbilisi stated.
