“Hundreds of people were maimed in your city. There are political prisoners in your city. Your city had ‘torture minibuses’ and buses on Rustaveli Avenue where people were tortured,” Irakli Kupradze, Secretary General of Strong Georgia – Lelo, said while addressing Kakha Kaladze, the Mayor of Tbilisi, during the “Debates” program on Rustavi 2.
According to Kupradze, Kaladze should step down from office.
“In your city, journalists, citizens, and politicians were ambushed near the entrances of their homes and physically assaulted. Half of Tbilisi received phone calls in which their mothers were insulted simply because they were standing at protests. Wasn’t this organized? Do you not feel any responsibility for this either? ... You should resign if you are not afraid of taking responsibility.
Time ultimately judges the high-ranking officials and officeholders of Georgian Dream, and as we have seen, they end up being judged only by imprisonment,” Irakli Kupradze stated.
