Financial assistance paid from the state budget for paid maternity leave and childbirth leave will not be subject to seizure
In enforcement proceedings, funds provided by the state as financial assistance during paid maternity leave and childcare leave for a pregnant woman or a parent who is a debtor will no longer be subject to seizure or enforcement.
The relevant amendment will be reflected in the Law “On Enforcement Proceedings.” According to the draft, financial assistance paid from the state budget for paid maternity leave and childcare leave will not be subject to seizure or enforcement.
The legislative initiative has been prepared by members of the “Georgian Dream” party and has already been submitted to Parliament.
The total amount of financial assistance provided for the period of paid maternity leave and childcare leave is set at no more than 2,000 GEL.
