Irakli Pavlenishvili - The United National Movement is joining the June 20 protest rally - we will participate in various campaign events and call on people to join the anti-occupation rally

The United National Movement is joining the June 20 protest rally announced by civil groups - we call on everyone to gather at the Philharmonic Hall on June 20 at 7:00 PM and join this protest march, - Irakli Pavlenishvili, one of the leaders of the United National Movement, said at the briefing.

According to him, the National Movement will participate in various campaign events until June 20 and calls on more people to join the announced rally.

“The United National Movement joins the June 20 protest rally announced by civil groups. We believe that June 20 is one of the most important dates in Georgia’s recent history, when the Georgian government first dared to brutally and bloodily crack down on an anti-occupation rally to please the Kremlin. Then, dozens of young people received serious injuries that affected their lives, but the Georgian people and youth did not stop fighting for freedom. June 20 is important because Ivanishvili began a new stage of concentration of power and consolidation of dictatorship. The policy of Russification has accelerated and today we can clearly see that Russian influence has fully penetrated not only state institutions, but Russification has also spread to Georgian cities. For example, in Tbilisi and Batumi, you can hear the Russian language more often than Georgian; real estate is more in the hands of representatives of the occupying country, for example, in Batumi. All this poses a vital threat to our country. Therefore, the anti-occupation rally on June 20 is as important as ever, and the new phase of the struggle that began on June 20 is in its decisive, final phase against Russian influence. We call on everyone to gather at the Philharmonic Hall on June 20 at 7:00 PM and join this protest march. The National Movement will participate in various campaign-related events until June 20 and calls on more people to join this important anti-occupation rally,” Pavlenishvili said.

For information, yesterday the civil campaign “One People, One Georgia” announced a rally on June 20. The rally will be dedicated to the memory of the so-called Gavrilov Night, 7 years since it took place.

As the organizers announced, they will gather at the Philharmonic Hall on June 20 at 7:00 PM and march to the Parliament.
