According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the police have detained a person who inflicted wounds on the citizen and the patrol inspector with a knife and tried to escape from the scene.
As the agency explains, the wounded man and the injured patrol inspector were taken to the clinic for appropriate medical assistance and their lives are now out of danger.
“While patrolling in the Chugureti district of Tbilisi, officers of the Tbilisi Main Division of the Patrol Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs noticed a man armed with a knife, who had inflicted wounds on a person nearby and was continuing to pursue him with a cold weapon.
The patrol inspectors called on the man to stop, but he did not obey the lawful request of the law enforcement officers, became aggressive towards them and attacked them. At that time, he inflicted wounds on one of the patrol inspectors with a knife and tried to escape from the scene.
As a result of the pursuit, the patrol inspectors detained the man as a suspect in the surrounding area.
The wounded man and the injured patrol inspector were taken to the clinic for appropriate medical assistance. Their lives are not in danger.
