According to the Labour Inspection Service of Georgia, violations of labor rights involving workers under the age of 18 were most frequently identified in the wholesale and retail trade sector.
The Labour Inspection Service's 2025 report states that, as a result of oversight of labor rights protections for minors under the age of 18, as provided for by the Organic Law of Georgia on the Labour Code and the Organic Law on Occupational Safety, violations were identified during the 2025 reporting period at 16 workplaces involving 26 minors.
Specifically: Violations of provisions established by the Organic Law of Georgia, the Labour Code, were identified at 15 workplaces, affecting 25 minors. A violation of Article 5, Paragraph 6 of the Organic Law on Occupational Safety was identified at one workplace, affecting one minor.
According to the report, the wholesale and retail trade sector accounted for the highest number of detected violations related to the labor rights of persons under 18 years of age.
