One Georgian citizen illegally detained by Russian occupation forces is free and is in the territory controlled by the central government, the State Security Service of Georgia reports.
As stated in the disseminated information, the European Union Monitoring Mission and all relevant instruments at the disposal of the government were involved in the process of releasing the Georgian citizen.
“One Georgian citizen illegally detained by Russian occupation forces near Sachkhere Municipality is free and is in the territory controlled by the central government.
Both the hotline mechanism operating with the direct involvement of the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM) in Georgia and all relevant instruments at the disposal of the central government were actively used in the process of releasing the illegally detained Georgian citizen.
"The central government of Georgia, together with international partners, continues to work actively to release all Georgian citizens illegally detained in the occupied territories," reads the statement.
