They are playing the "investigation"! Two years have passed and they have now “seen in a dream” that torture and kidnapping took place. They slept for two years. During these two years, they caught "two small fish" and are protecting the main ones, - reads a letter sent by the Chairman of the Political Council of the National Movement, Levan Khabeishvili from Rustavi Prison No. 12, with which the opposition politician responds to his interrogation by an investigator in a penitentiary institution.
As Khabeishvili writes, the responsibility of the former head of the State Security Service Grigol Liluashvili, the former Minister of Internal Affairs Vakhtang Gomelauri and the current high-ranking officials in the case of his torture should be raised.
“Khareba and Goga Memanishvili are the first to be arrested, and then those who turned on the green light. At that time, this green light was given to them by Ivanishvili, Prime Minister Kobakhidze and Mdinaradze. In the middle of this green light, there are also the then head of the State Security Service, Liluashvili and the Minister of Internal Affairs Gomelauri. If they are not held accountable, then who cares about some nameless bugs?!
This torture had one main organizer, and this is Ivanishvili’s torture system. Up to 300 people were tortured and they want to go into the background by arresting 5 or even 10 people. I am interested in the creators of the system, and these are the Ivanishvili-Kobakhidzes," reads Khabeishvili's letter, which the lawyer handed over to journalists.
For information, at Rustavi Penitentiary No. 12, the prosecutor's office investigator questioned the chairman of the political council of the National Movement, Levan Khabeishvili, as a victim.
According to the investigation, on April 30, 2024, during a rally on Rustaveli Avenue, the then employee of the Special Tasks Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Z.Ch., and another employee of the Special Tasks Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, A.B., physically assaulted Levan Khabeishvili.
The defendants in the case are in pre-trial detention.
