The Ministry of Internal Affairs has arrested four individuals in Tbilisi on drug-related charges

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, officers of the Tbilisi Main Division of the Patrol Police Department arrested four people at different times on charges of illegal purchase and possession of particularly large quantities of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, facilitating their distribution, and illegal cultivation of plants containing narcotic substances.

The ministry stated that the investigation is being conducted under Articles 260, 260⁴, and 265¹ of the Criminal Code of Georgia, offenses that carry penalties of up to 20 years' imprisonment or life imprisonment.

“During searches of the defendants’ persons and residences in Tbilisi, as well as at various other locations, law enforcement officers seized particularly large quantities of narcotic drugs and a psychotropic substance as evidence, including mephedrone, methadone, alpha-PVP, cannabis plants, and ketamine.

As a result of investigative activities, officers also seized materials used for the packaging and cultivation of narcotic substances,” the ministry said in a statement.
