“We saw Ukraine and Moldova take their first steps toward European integration, where Georgia should have been, but is not because of Russian pressure and the regime holding power,” said Georgia’s fifth president, Salome Zurabishvili, in an interview with the American TV channel CBS News.
According to the Georgian President, the country is now “very far from democracy, whereas a few years ago we were very close.”
“A country that was considered to be the closest to the doors of the European Union and NATO.
Yesterday we saw Ukraine and Moldova take their first steps toward this European integration, where Georgia should have been, and where Georgia is not because of Russian pressure and because of the regime currently holding power in Georgia,” Zurabishvili said.
