The defendants in the October 4 case - Zurab Chavchanidze, Vladimir Gevelesian, Amiran Dolishvili, Anton Vardanidze, Alexander Chilachava, Genadi Kupreishvili, Sulkhan Tugushi, and Ramaz Mamuladze - have been sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment each

Eight individuals accused in one episode related to the events of October 4 - the same persons listed above - were found guilty by the court.

According to the decision of Tbilisi City Court judge Romeo Tkeshelashvili, all eight defendants, including Zurab Chavchanidze, were sentenced to five years in prison.

Although Chavchanidze stated during the court hearing that he had submitted a request to the Prosecutor’s Office for a plea agreement, the judge explained that this stage had already passed and that plea agreements had already been concluded with those who had requested them.

In total, there were 14 defendants in this episode. Six of them - Giorgi Korkia, Giorgi Rurua, Khvicha Gogokhia, Levan Jikia, Lasha Ivanadze, and Sergo Megrelishvili - had plea agreements signed with the prosecution and were released from the courtroom.

For context, in connection with the events of October 4, a total of 64 individuals were brought to criminal responsibility. At this stage, the Prosecutor’s Office has agreed to plea bargains with 22 individuals.
