Sometimes he brings controversial figures to the forefront to intimidate the public, and sometimes he moves them into the background in order to save face in the eyes of certain people,” said Giorgi Sioridze, one of the leaders of Lelo - Strong Georgia, commenting on the appointment of Kakha Muradashvili as First Deputy Prosecutor General of Georgia.

According to Sioridze, “the main issue is that the system is criminal and rotten, and it must inevitably be changed together with the Georgian Dream regime.”

“The system sometimes devours its own offspring and sometimes rewards them. Sometimes it awards the Order of Honor to individuals included on the Magnitsky list, and at other times it prosecutes certain special forces officers.

For context, Kakha Muradashvili, a senior police official, has been appointed as the First Deputy Prosecutor General of Georgia.

According to reports, Muradashvili was appointed to the position on June 22, 2026. Before him, the post was held by Zurab Beltadze, who remains in the Prosecutor’s Office as a deputy prosecutor general.

Muradashvili has held a number of senior positions within the Georgian police at various stages of his career.
