Family members of those arrested during protests urge citizens to attend march planned for today

Family members of those arrested during the November-December 2024 protests urge citizens to attend march planned for today at 7:00 PM.

A joint statement was made by some of the prisoners' family members near the Philharmonic.

“Today, we stand here not only as parents and family members of prisoners of conscience, but also as people who believe in truth, dignity and freedom. Our children, family members and loved ones are in prison today. They were deprived of their freedom, but they could not be deprived of their dignity, truth and faith that justice will prevail.

Support is of particular importance on this difficult path. Every word, every expression of solidarity, every person who comes to the rally strengthens us. When we see that society does not forget the prisoners, does not leave them alone and stands by them, it gives us the strength to continue the fight. Solidarity is not just sympathy. Solidarity is action

We appeal to the citizens of Georgia: no person should be left alone in the face of injustice. Today, activism, mutual support and civic responsibility are especially important. Changes are always created by people, those who do not tolerate injustice, those who speak up and act.

Thank you to each person who is by our side in this fight. We are waiting for you today, at 19:00, at the march from the Philharmonic to the Parliament, which is dedicated to the prisoners of the regime. Freedom to prisoners of conscience! Freedom to political prisoners!", - reads a joint statement by some of the prisoners' family members.
