Court fines civil activist Tamar Giorgadze GEL 3,000 for a post about Bidzina Ivanishvili

The Tbilisi City Court fined civil activist Tamar Giorgadze 3,000 GEL for a post written on a social network about the founder of the Georgian Dream, Bidzina Ivanishvili.

The decision was made by Judge Tornike Kochkiani.

“I wrote a post on my personal page, where a curse was considered an insult. I do not consider a curse to be an insult,” Tamar Giorgadze told journalists.

The Department for Combating Hate Speech, established at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, applied to the City Court for a legal response.
