The fact is that the Dream, defeated by prices, drug addiction, corruption, occupation and international politics, no longer has any intellectual resources, arguments and competence left to confront the truth without violence and locking citizens in prison, - Berdia Sichinava, one of the leaders of Gakharia for Georgia, stated at the briefing held at the party office, thereby once again assessing the events that took place in the parliament on June 26.

Berdia Sichinava demanded an immediate investigation into the crime committed and appropriate legal action, noting that the crime committed by the Georgian Dream deputies is punishable by up to 12 years in prison.

“On June 26, a pre-organized, group crime by the Dream deputies took place in the Georgian Parliament, which was carried out in the presence of the Prime Minister, the Minister of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor General in the constitutional body. Despite this, it has already been 3 days since the law enforcement agencies have been silent. We would like to remind them that the grave crime committed by the Dream MPs against members of the Georgian Parliament, namely the pre-organized, group attack on MPs while performing their official duties, in connection with their activities, is punishable by up to 12 years in prison, and no amount of hypocritical apology can help this, which they did only because of the public's reaction, and not because they regret the crime they committed. When young people sit in prison for years without evidence, on fabricated charges, Mzia Amaglobeli was sentenced to 2 years just for slapping, a mother of 4 children for writing on a banner with a marker, in these conditions it is not only a political and legal, but also a moral obligation for us to fight to the end, for each victim of the violence of Dream, because no one knows what crimes these perpetrators will organize, incite or commit in the future. Today, Dream has banned criticism and sanctioned any dissenting opinion - on the street, on social networks, and now in parliament, it is trying to do the same with violence. The Dream has created a reality where the majority of citizens face prison or physical attacks for expressing their opinions, where a woman is imprisoned for years for defending her dignity, while those close to the Dream are guaranteed impunity for any serious crime, and no matter what they do, everything is forgiven due to the privileges they receive from the Dream. This situation creates an extremely dangerous environment in the country. Violence against children, women, youth, citizens, violence on the streets, in detention cars, in police stations, everywhere where there are no video cameras, and now in parliament, in public, in front of cameras, by high-ranking state and political officials, directly demonstrates the systemic nature of the violence organized by the Dream.

We all know that even if an investigation is launched, this case will be shelved, but the time will come when all perpetrators will inevitably face criminal liability,” said Berdia Sichinava.

For information, on June 26, a verbal and physical confrontation took place in the parliament’s session hall. Gakharia for Georgia MPs and Georgian Dream members physically confronted each other.

The verbal and then physical confrontation followed a speech by MP Giorgi Sharashidze, in which he mentioned the visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Georgia and said to the Prime Minister: “The whole of Georgia saw the footage of you standing in the corner, which indicates your real role and place in power. Georgia has never had a prime minister like this.”
