Opposition politician Zviad Kuprava, accused of calling for the overthrow of the state government, has been sentenced to 2 years and 6 months in prison.
The decision was made by Judge Tamar Mchedlishvili of the Tbilisi City Court.
For information, Zviad Kuprava was charged under Articles 317 and 353 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which include calling for the violent change of the constitutional order of Georgia and the overthrow of the state government, and resisting a government representative with the aim of terminating his activities.
