The Special Penitentiary Service has agreed to transfer the founder of Droa, Elene Khoshtaria, to a civil sector clinic.

The relevant statement was made by Giorgi Pataridze, Director General of the Special Penitentiary Service, to the media after the meeting of the imprisoned opposition politician, Elene Khoshtaria, with doctors Maka Ioseliani and Ani Kavtaradze.

As Pataridze explained, they agreed that Elene Khoshtaria will be transferred to the Vivamedi clinic in about two days, where she will undergo additional tests under the supervision of doctors Maka Ioseliani and Ani Kavtaradze.

"The speculations that have unfortunately been going on for the past few days and were discussed at briefings, I would like to point out that this negatively affects each convict. When we requested a meeting with a specialized doctor, you remember my statement that we would be happy if we switched to healthy communication, accordingly, we reflected the processes in dynamics, two days have passed since then and we practically came to a decision, which is primarily in the best interests of the convict Elene Khoshtaria. We also noted that the interested party provided us with information that they suspected a specific disease. We stated that appropriate laboratory tests would be conducted specifically in the direction of this disease, fortunately, this disease was not detected in Elene Khoshtaria. Believe me, appropriate laboratory tests have been conducted more than once. We agree, we are transferring the convict Elene Khoshtaria to a civil sector clinic. The Penitentiary Service has an agreement with the civil sector Clinic - Vivamedi, and accordingly, we agree to transfer her to Vivamedi under the supervision of doctors Maka and Ana, representing the interests of the convict in the medical direction. Elene Khoshtaria will undergo appropriate additional examinations there. We have agreed that the convict will be transferred to Vivamedi in about two days, - said Pataridze.
