As for core inflation, according to Geostat, this indicator in June 2026, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, amounted to 3.5 percent, while the annual core inflation rate without tobacco was determined at 3.2 percent.
“The formation of the monthly inflation rate was mainly influenced by price changes in the following groups: Hotels, cafes and restaurants: prices in the group increased by 2.1 percent. Accordingly, the contribution of the group to monthly inflation was 0.08 percentage points. Prices increased both for overnight accommodation services (4.1 percent) and for public catering (1.7 percent); Transport: prices in the group increased by 0.6 percent, which was reflected in monthly inflation by 0.08 percentage points. Prices mainly increased for transport services (2.9 percent) and the operation of personal transport equipment (0.2 percent); Clothing and footwear: prices in the group decreased by 2.3 percent, which was reflected in monthly inflation by -0.1 percentage points. Prices decreased in both the clothing (-3.1 percent) and footwear (-0.6 percent) subgroups; Food and non-alcoholic beverages: prices in the group decreased by 0.1 percent, which was reflected in monthly inflation by -0.07 percentage points. Prices decreased in the subgroups: milk, cheese and eggs (-1.5 percent), sugar, jam and other sweets (-1.3 percent), vegetables and greens (-1.1 percent), coffee, tea and cocoa (-0.7 percent). At the same time, prices increased in the subgroups: fruits and grapes (3.3 percent), fish (1.5 percent), meat and meat products (0.5 percent), bread and bakery products (0.1 percent), mineral and spring water, non-alcoholic beverages and natural juices (0.1 percent).
The formation of annual inflation was mainly influenced by price changes in the following groups: Food and non-alcoholic beverages: prices in the group increased by 5.6 percent, which was reflected in annual inflation by 1.92 percentage points. Prices increased in the subgroups: fish (20.4 percent), meat and meat products (9.8 percent), fruits and grapes (8.7 percent), bread and bakery products (6.6 percent), sugar, jam and other sweets (5.5 percent), oils and fats (5.5 percent), coffee, tea and cocoa (4.2 percent), mineral and spring water, non-alcoholic beverages and natural juices (1.8 percent), milk, cheese and eggs (1.8 percent), vegetables and greens (0.4 percent); Transport: prices in the group increased by 16.5 percent, which was reflected in annual inflation by 1.87 percentage points. Housing, water, electricity, gas: prices in the group increased by 7.2 percent, which was reflected in the overall index by 0.69 percentage points.
